Imtiaz Ali gave Deepika Padukone superhit films like 'Love Aaj Kal' and 'Cocktail', and he is working with Alia Bhatt on 'Highway'. While both the actresses have managed to impress the director, he is not able to clearly narrow down on the lead for his next.

It was comparatively easier for Imtiaz to finalize Ranbir Kapoor, who turned his cult flick 'Rockstar' to a blockbuster at the box office. After the success of 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' (YJHD), the Ranbir-Deepika chemistry is certainly a hit among the masses too.

Imtiaz is now contemplating whether to pair Ranbir-Deepika or would it be an overdose for the fans. Besides, there will be a set baseline in the form of 'YJHD' as the critics and the audiences will compare Imtiaz's next to the Ayan Mukerji blockbuster, which according to Imtiaz will distract the audiences from the true storyline and the overall feel of his movie.
