After a terrific success at the box office in 2013, Deepika Padukone is now looking forward to her next release 'Happy New Year'. The dimpled actress in conversation with a leading publication, spilled the beans on many unspoken topics till date.

Deepika wishing her ex Ranbir Kapoor's current girlfriend Katrina Kaif surprised many people. The actress had tweeted, "Happy Birthday Katrina. Lots of love and hope you have the bestest year ever."

Speculations suggest that Dippy has a hidden agenda behind her move, on which she replied, "It saddens me to know that something as basic as a birthday wish is being questioned. I have been brought up in a certain way. When you walk in, should I not say hello to you? Similarly, when it’s someone’s birthday, you wish them. Have we all forgotten how to be real?"

Moving further, when she was asked whether actresses are treated as eye candy in Bollywood, giving the reference of Katrina Kaif in 'Dhoom 3', she said, "According to her she has worked very hard no for the film (smiles). So how can you call her a show piece? I am trying to say the hard work and the effort is the same. Being a heroine is not easy at all. Every role has a lot of hard work. I can’t comment on other people’s choice of roles. Something I don’t like will be liked by somebody else. I have done films including my flop films like Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se, Break K Baad, Lafangey Parindey they are all character driven film. People remember a character only if a film does well."

In the recent past Katrina too supported Deepika on the cleavage controversy. Did Kat and Dippy iron out their difference? Only time will tell.
