Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor starrer 'Dhadak' helmed by Shashank Khaitan is confirmed to release on July 20. Backed by Dharma productions film was earlier slated to release on July 6, but is now postponed to July 20 and the reason for the delay is unknown.
Producer of the film Karan Johar took it to twitter to announce the new release date of the film, sharing the new poster of Dhadak where Ishant holds Janhvi in his arms and the new release date is featured.
Karan shared the poster of the film and captioned, ''#6monthstoDHADAK #dhadak releasing 20th JULY 2018! Directed by @ShashankKhaitan and PRESENTING #janhvi and #Ishaan @DharmaMovies @ZeeStudios_ @apoorvamehta18''.
Dhadak is an official remake of the Marathi blockbuster film 'Sairat' that became the first regional language film to join the 100 crore club. Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar starrer was directed by Nagraj Manjule. Moreover, this will be Janhvi Kapoor's debut whereas Ishan Khatter earlier acted in Majid Majidi's 'Beyond the Clouds'.
In an interview earlier Dhadak director Shashank Khaitan said, "The basic premise is of differences in caste, honour killing and what it means to survive in that world and I feel that is the conflict that is alive all across India, you will hear stories like that. So in that sense, the basic premise (of Dhadak and Sairat) is same. But there are variations."
