(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Dr. Conrad Murray demanded a CPR machine be available on standby for Michael Jackson.
Attorney Kathy Jorrie, who was the legal representative for This Is It Tour promoters AEG, testified in a Los Angeles court today as the trial into the death of the King of Pop continued.
The second day of testimony revealed that Jorrie was the one who drafted the contract between AEG, Murray and Jackson.
The pop icon died of acute Propofol intoxication on June 25 2009 and his former personal physician has been charged with his involuntary manslaughter. Murray is on trial and has denied the allegations.
Jorrie told prosecutors that Murray requested a CPR machine in his contract.
When asked why he would need a resuscitation machine, Murray allegedly told her that given Jackson's age and the strenuous nature of the shows he was set to perform, he did not want to take any chances and wanted to be prepared.
Jorrie also testified that she spoke to Murray on the day before Jackson died and he told her that he saw the singer perform and that he was in "perfect health".
During contract negotiations, Murray apparently also demanded that he get paid his $150,000 monthly fee even when the This Is It tour was on a break.
She said that in the end the contract was not signed by all the parties involved and no payment was ever made to Murray by AEG.
The trial is expected to last between five and six weeks. (C) Cover Media
