(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Drew Barrymore has welcomed her first child.

The 37-year-old actress gave birth to a baby girl.

Drew and her husband Will Kopelman are elated to parent their new tyke.

"We are proud to announce the birth of our daughter, Olive Barrymore Kopelman, born Sept. 26th, healthy, happy and welcomed by the whole family," the couple said in a statement to People magazine.

Drew tied the knot with art consultant Will Kopelman in June.

Will, an avid photographer, is said to be in favour of taking his own first pictures of the newborn, rather than have a magazine do the snaps.

The couple has been spending quality time with Will's parents, who travelled to Los Angeles ahead of the birth.

Drew has made no secret of her excitement about having more children with Will down the road.

But the Hollywood darling is also keen to let her brood stray from show business.

"I didn't have a traditional childhood. I did not have a strong family dynamic growing up, but I'm about to start a family of my own," she recently told Haute Living magazine.
