Duffy keen to make great music

5th December 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Duffy wants to be satisfied enough with her career to say she made great records.

The Welsh singer has just released a new album, called Endlessly, after a two-year break from the music industry.

It is the follow up to her hugely successful debut Rockferry, which came out in 2008 and spawned the UK smash single Mercy.

And Duffy believes she will only be content if she is able, as a retired recording artist, to look back at her LPs with pride plus she wants her fans to feel the same.

All I want when Im an old lady is for people to say, Wow, you made great records. I just need to know that I made great records, the 26-year-old told Look magazine.

Duffy - real name Aime Ann Duffy - appeared on the Welsh talent show Wawffactor back in 2003, eventually finishing second. She later admitted the experience was one of the worst of her life.

But the sassy blonde says these kind of programmes dont generally bother her and they have unearthed some unexpected oddball stars.

I dont mind talent shows; I have a lot of respect for some of them because they give people great experiences - Susan Boyle, for example, Duffy added.

The Brit award-winner thinks Susan has a very powerful voice. And Duffy compared the Scot to an iconic World War II singer. Youd have to have a heart of stone to not feel moved by her. I think shes a modern day Edith Piaf, she explained. (C) Cover Media
