Eddie Izzard: I want Clooney rematch

6th July 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Eddie Izzard wants a rematch after George Clooney beat him at foosball.

The pair starred in both Ocean's Twelve and Ocean's Thirteen together, and enjoyed playing games of table football together between takes.

British actor and comedian Eddie, 49, admits he has not overcome being beaten by 50-year-old Hollywood heartthrob George, and is still plotting a replay.

"He's very good at table football, he beat me. I want a rematch," laughed the star in an interview with BBC Radio One.

Eddie is a skilled linguist and speaks French fluently. The actor considered the etymology of the word foosball, musing that Americans probably adopted it from Germany. When radio host Chris Moyles remarked on Eddie's impressive language abilities, the modest star denied he is particularly wise.

"I'm not intellectual. It's stupid intelligence," he insisted, laughing that he knows big words such as "helicopter" and "thermometer".

Eddie also discussed the possibility of another movie in the Ocean's crime franchise, which has enjoyed huge success with three movies so far. The actor raised the possibility with George, although wasn't encouraged by the response.

"I asked about Ocean's Fourteen. I asked George. He looked at Matt Damon and said, No I don't think we'll do it,'" added Eddie. (C) Cover Media
