(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Elisabetta Canalis classifies herself as a "doormat" in relationships and is on a never-ending hunt to find her "Prince Charming".

The 32-year-old Italian star recently broke up with George Clooney and feels she is unlucky in relationships. She fears she is always looking for the wrong type of man to partner up with.

"I'm a bit of a tomboy, but when it comes to love I am a doormat," Elisabetta said in an interview with Italian magazine Chi. "I'm looking for men who can give me security."

Elisabetta and George ended their relationship in June. Elisabetta, who is rumoured to have wanted to wed the notorious bachelor, credits their break-up to her poor choice in significant others.

"I have always seen cold and controlled men as the right ones for me," Elisabetta explained. "You have to accept that Prince Charming who is coming to save you is not going to happen - it works against you."

Elisabetta and George have since moved on. George is now dating Stacy Kiebler and Elisabetta has relocated from Italy to Los Angeles in an attempt to break free from the past. She has found peace in her new location.

"The end of a relationship is complicated. I went to the United States, because at the moment I could no longer face the world. Watching my life being dissected was not easy for me," Elisabetta explained. "Here in Los Angeles I have found serenity. I've also found work. It was a difficult time for me, but you have to get on with things."

She has matured greatly since her split from George. Now she has a fresh take on her romantic relationships.

"In the past I would self-destruct when it came to love - I was immature, throwing myself into things but now times have changed," Elisabetta said. "I want a relationship where you understand the other person." (C) Cover Media
