It has been a while that the discussions on Ekta Kapoor's next production based on former Indian Cricketer Azharuddin's life have been in news. 

Ekta who is known to pick the best of stories for her films had been interested in unraveling the real story behind Azharuddin's controversial life. And that is when she approached Azhar who readily granted the permission to Ekta to put his controversial life on screen. 

However, their opinion on film's lead star is divided. 

While Azhar prefers Saif Ali Khan to play his life onscreen due to his background in cricket and style, Ekta prefers Emraan Hashmi who has been her favorite since 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai'. 

"If you ask for my opinion, I would choose Saif Ali Khan for the fact that he belongs to a cricket family and like me is known for his personal style statement. But yet I cannot take a call. Ekta is film's producer and it will be her decision," said Azharuddin. 

Ekta who has worked with Emraan in the past is keen on casting him yet again.

It remains to be seen who finally bags the deal.
