(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Eva Longoria was apparently surprised when Mark Sanchez decided to end their brief romance.

Previous reports suggested the Desperate Housewives actress had broken up with the American football star after they dated for a few months. However, New York Daily News' Confidenti@l column is now claiming Mark was the one to call time on the relationship.

Some of Eva's friends attended the recent Disney Pictures premiere of Secret of the Wings in New York City. During the event, they were apparently overheard "talking nonstop about Mark breaking up with Eva."

When Mark announced the couple were no longer together last week, rumours surfaced that Eva had called it quits because she didn't feel their lifestyles were compatible.

Insiders also claimed Mark was "really upset about the break-up".

However, it now seems 37-year-old Eva may be the one nursing a wounded heart after she was seen looking less than her usually glamorous self as she hit the gym in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The New York Jets player appears to be coping better with the split. Mark was spotted partying at the Darby Downstairs lounge in the city until the early hours over the weekend.

The actress was first linked to the 25-year-old sportsman in June this year, when they were seen enjoying an evening out in New York. (C) Cover Media
