Florence + the Machine thrill at Lollapalooza

6th August 2012

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Florence + the Machine played their song Breath of Life live for the first time at a music festival yesterday.

The British band provided the song for the Snow White and the Huntsman soundtrack. Singer Florence Welch thought the Lollapalooza event in Chicago would be the perfect place to perform it on stage.

"[It has] never, ever been played live before," she explained.

The group thrilled the crowd with a storming set at the annual event, playing hits such as Dog Days Are Over and Shake It Out.

Florence had previously cancelled some performances after experiencing problems with her voice. Despite taking some time off, she admitted feeling tired as she arrived at Lollapalooza.

"[I'm at the hallucinatory level of exhaustion and] it's not the good kind of hallucinatory," she told MTV News.

Jack White closed the event yesterday, playing a storming two-hour set featuring hits from his bands The White Stripes and The Dead Weather.

Other bands to appear included Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys and Black Sabbath.

The event was a resounding success, even though poor weather conditions meant it had to close for three hours at one point. (C) Cover Media
