(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Gary Barlow will replace Simon Cowell on the UKs X Factor.

According to reports, the Take That musician was signed to join the judging panel of the hit television show yesterday.

The 40-year-old is set to take over from music mogul Simon Cowell, who is leaving the British version of the show to front the American version. The 51-year-old music executive will appear alongside newly appointed judge Cheryl Cole.

Louis Walsh, 58, is also returning to the talent show judging panel, which will be his seventh consecutive year as a mentor to the finalists.

"Louis has been told he's back - and Gary is now a definite, a source told British newspaper The Sun. Gary knows the business inside and out. If anyone could replace Simon, it's him."

The newspaper also revealed that there is a new star in negotiations for Cheryls seat on the judging panel.

Former Destinys Child singer Kelly Rowland, 30, is apparently in talks to join the show.

Dannii Minogue, another of the shows seasoned judges, has been invited back to star on the panel, but according to sources, the Australian star has yet to confirm her attendance. (C) Cover Media
