After Team India's disappointing performance at the recently concluded Indian tour, the board blamed the girlfriends and the wives of the cricketers for the same.

According to some members of the board, when the better halves of these cricketers accompany them on such tours, they distract them from their game much to loss of cricket.

However, the one name which attracted a lot of attention was that of Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma who accompanied her 'good friend', Indian cricketer Virat Kohli.

Right from the beginning of the series, Anushka has been indirectly blamed for Virat's poor performance. Though neither Virat nor Anushka have spoken about it, yet the actress has got support from a former colleague.

Bollywood actress Geeta Basra, famously known as Indian Spinner Harbhajan Singh's girlfriend, has come out in the open to support Anushka. She feels that it is extremely silly to blame Anushka. "Players go through ups and downs. Finding a scapegoat is unfair," she said.

Apparently, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has denied allegations of them restricting the WAGs on tours.
