(Cover) - EN Showbiz - George Michael has reportedly split from his partner of 15 years.
The British pop star has retreated from the limelight in recent months as he has been trying to get his life back on track. The singer spent four weeks in jail last year after admitted possessing cannabis and driving under the influence of drink or drugs.
George has had legal problems in the past, including being banned from driving for 24 months after he was found slumped at the wheel of his car in 2007. His boyfriend Kenny Goss has always stood by him, but the stars recent incarceration has proved too much for the businessman and he is said to have called time on the romance.
The writing has been on the wall for some time. There are only so many second chances Kenny was prepared to give, a source told British newspaper The Sun. He's been loyal to George from day one, but that hasn't always been reciprocated.
Kenny runs an incredibly successful gallery. With Kenny in the US, they spend so much time apart and that's got worse over the last couple of years. It's really sad, but hopefully this could be the wake-up call George needs.
George and Kenny are yet to comment on the report.
In 2009, it was reported the pair had parted ways after George was arrested for possessing drugs in Hampstead Heath in London. The couple denied the claims.
Meanwhile, George has given an interview to a British radio station during which he discussed his 2010 prison stint. The 47-year-old insists he didnt mind going to jail as he thought it was thoroughly deserved, and so he was expecting it.
By the time I went to court, I knew this wasn't going to happen again. I knew I was going to lose my licence. I was assured I wasn't going to prison but I thought I was, and like I said, it was much easier to take because I felt it was deserved, he told DJ Chris Evans.
This was a hugely shameful thing to have done repeatedly so karmically I felt like I had a bill to pay. I went to prison, I paid my bill.
Remarkably enough, I know people must think it was a really horrific experience - it's so much easier to take any form of punishment if you believe you actually deserve it, and I did.
The star added he sometimes feels like the poster boy for cannabis as he has been open about his use of the drug.
While inside he received letters from many other stars, including Boy George and Sir Paul McCartney, which helped him through. He admits being incarcerated wasnt a pleasant experience, although he has rubbished reports he was teary inside.
Well, it was Pentonville. It wasn't a weekend break, put it that way, he said, when asked about his first night in jail. What did I think? Well, I didn't feel sorry for myself. I thought, 'Oh my God, this place is absolutely filthy, because it was Pentonville.
I just thought, You get your head down. Those stories of me crying are rubbish. They wish that was me, but that's not me. (C) Cover Media
