Giuliana Rancic prefers to think about the "great things" in her life.

The television presenter is in positive spirits after undergoing a double mastectomy on December 13.

Recovering from the breast cancer operation is challenging, but Giuliana won't allow her adversity to damper her mood.

"Attitude is everything," Giuliana told Extra. "I mean, it's very easy to sit at home and feel sorry for yourself and I did that. At some point, I kind of had to think about the great things in my life!"

Giuliana returned to her post as the host of E! News this week. She enjoys being back on the job.

"Honestly, work has been the best distraction for me," she said.

Giuliana is excited about the future. Next year will be unlike any other that she and her husband Bill have experienced before.

"I think this is our biggest New Year's ever. We are going to put this year behind us and welcome the New Year," Giuliana gushed. "I want to live in the present. I just want to stop worrying about next week and next month, you know, because the next thing you know, it's the end of your life and all you did was worry about the future!"
