Glee star reveals ninja hobby

30th November 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Chris Colfer practices the art of ninja every day, after being inspired by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The America star plays Kurt Hummel in cult US series Glee, about a group of high school misfits who bond after joining a singing group. Kurt is flamboyant, which is why Chris loves telling people he is a secret ninja.

He first got interested in the art after watching cartoon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as a child, and finally realised his dream of being like his heroes recently.

I practice Ninjutsu every day, Ninjutsu is the art of ninja. I have swords that I practice with everyday in my trailer, and it makes the cast very nervous, he laughed on an American talk show. I grew up watching Ninja Turtles and I always wanted to do them and bought some on eBay finally, and taught myself how to do it, so I have some tricks.

Chris then proceeded to produce two silver swords from behind the sofa he was sitting on.

They [the swords] are called Sai, he explained, before spinning them around in his hands to cheers and whoops from the audience. (C) Cover Media
