September 21, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Goa has always been a favorite holiday destination for many Bollywood stars and it has always been the venue of International Film Festival of India (IFFI). This time also, the festival is being organized in the this beautiful place and the state wants to take full benefit out of it by promoting Goa as a film destination place.
A senior state bureaucrat was quoted saying that Goa will be promoting itself as destination for shooting films.
While addressing the delegates of South Asian Film Festival, Manoj Srivastava, Chief Executive Officer of The Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), stated that a stall of ESG will be set during the IFFI this year and it will present Goa as a favorite for shooting movies.
Srivastava added that they trying to attract more people by offering them benefits and making the situation easier for them to shoot. He said that Goa did not have a film culture when IFFI travelled to the state initially. However, many local people have stated participating at the event in last few years, he said.
Speaking to the media, Manoj Srivastava was quoted saying that Goa has enough to shoot except snow. He added that even a desert can be shot here keeping the beach as the background.
