Green Day are "ready to rock" at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) despite singer Billie Joe Armstrong's health setback.
The punk band's frontman Billie Joe was rushed to hospital on Sunday night and the group were forced to cancel a show in Bologna, Italy, as a result.
Green Day - also comprising of bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tre Cool - insist that Billie Joe is back to good health and is ready to wow crowds at the hotly-anticipated ceremony tonight.
"We're ready to rock, we're gonna be here, we're gonna have a good time. We're going to drink chicken blood," Mike laughed to MTV News, before Tre added: "And angel pi*s."
Fans were also given an update on Billie Joe's health. Mike explained that the singer was struck down with "heavy, heavy dehydration".
"It was like severe dehydration, influenza, and it was just a really, really bad situation. He woke up in the morning and it was bad. Let's put it this way, if you're in your hotel room and you're vomiting profusely, it's not fun. So what are you gonna do? It's hard to sing while you're puking," Mike revealed.
Mike added the band is re-scheduling the missed concert in Italy. The musician doesn't to let the fans down.
"We're going to make our way back to Bologna and play that show ASAP," he said. "We don't miss many shows; we've maybe missed five shows out of our entire career and we pride ourselves on that, but we're human."
