Entering the virgin territories and achieving success is his only goal. Be it 'Lagaan' with Aamir Khan in 2001 or 'Baazi' in the very beginning of his career, the filmmaker knew how to inject his unique in the films and make it appealing to the audience.

His films raise patriotic feelings amongst the audience and 'Swades' starring Shah Rukh Khan is one of it. Besides this, he was also successful in getting the epic romance of 'Jodhaa Akbar' featuring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on screen. Both the films went on to win big at several award functions.
