These are the amazing lines from one of the most successful writer, lyricist and scriptwriter in India and Bollywood from the box office hit 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'. Javed Akhtar who has given this movie a different essence altogether turns 67 today.
He, who is popularly known as 'Javed Saheb' or 'Javed Miya' is a mainstream writer and some of his most famous works were carried out in the late 70s and 80s with Salim Khan and the duo were famously known as 'Salim-Javed Jodi'.
Javed sir was married to Honey Irani, who is also a scriptwriter for Hindi films. The couple have two kids, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar who are also actor and director respectively. The entire family is a part of Bollywood in some way or the other. The father-son duo have also worked together in several hits like 'Dil Chahta Hai', 'Lakshya', 'Rock On!!' and 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'. After his divorce from Irani, he married actress Shabana Azmi, daughter of another successful Urdu poet Kaifi Azmi.
Akhtar's work and his lifetime achievements are clearly noticeable from the number of awards he has won till date. From the 'Padma Shree' award by the Government Of India to 14 FilmFare awards for 'Best Scripts' and 'Best Lyrics', Akhtar has also won the 'National Award' and the 'National Integration Award' from All India Terrorist Association.
He has given the audience many such songs that they cannot stop humming despite them being really old. These include, 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga...', 'Papa Kehte Hai Bada Naam Karega...' 'Panchi Nadiya Pawan Ke Jhonke Koi Sarhad Na Hume Roke...' and many more from movies like 'Veer-Zaara', 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' and 'Jodhaa Akhbar'.
Besides being famous as a person, he is famous in his work too. He gives a true definition to the phrase 'Old is Gold' in all senses.
