The evergreen diva of Bollywood, Kajol turns 41 as she celebrates her birthday today.
Making her Hindi film debut with 'Bekhudi' at the tender age of sixteen, Kajol had stepped foot in the industry with a firm determination that she would become one of the most successful actresses and she indeed made this determination into a reality with her acting prowess and powerhouse performances over the years in numerous films.
Starting with 'Bekhudi', Kajol starred in many blockbusters throughout her career like 'Baazigar', 'Karan Arjun', 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge', 'Gupt', 'Ishq', 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham', to name a few.
'Baazigar' gained her a strong foothold in the industry but after that came 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' opposite Shah Rukh Khan which simply changed the entire scenario and her life with it. This film went on to become a gigantic hit and one of the biggest hits in Hindi film history.
The film's grasp at the box office was so strong, that it went on to be screened at Maratha Mandir theatre in Mumbai since its release in 1995 till 2014, making it the longest running film to be screened at a theatre. This film establised her as one of the most successful actresses in the industry and then there was no looking back for her as many other blockbusters followed suit.
There are no second thoughts that Kajol has won numerous awards for her powerhouse performances. In 'DDLJ' she played Simran Singh, the love interest of Raj Malhotra played by SRK and her role in the film fetched her, her first Filmfare Award in the best actress category.
In 'Gupt' she played Isha Dewan, the obsessive lover of Sahil Sinha played by Bobby Deol. She played the main antagonist in this film and her performance once again fetched her a Filmfare Award in the best actress in a negative role category.
Further, her perfomances in the films 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham', 'Fanaa', and 'My Name Is Khan' all won her the Filmfare Award in the best actress category, making her the winner of maximum filmfare awards for the best actress category.
Kajol fell for fellow actor Ajay Devgn and the two courted for four years before getting married in 1999. Now a mother of two, Kajol still looks as ravishing and beautiful as ever despite the fact that she's in her 40's now.
All said and done, we must admit the fact that Kajol has nothing left to prove in her career. She was a star the moment she stepped foot in the industry and she just went on getting bigger and bigger by each film.
Fridaymoviez, wishes the powerhouse actress a very happy birthday and more success and glory in the coming years.
