Manoj Bajpayee, who is known to be a conventional actor, celebrates his birthday today. The actor who started off his career with Doordarshan’s Swaabhimaan was kicked  to fame with his much acclaimed performance in Ram Gopal Varma’s Satya. He received National Award for the Best Actor in a Supporting Role. 

His role in 2003 release, Pinjar with Urmila Matondkar also earned him the prestigious National Award (Special Jury Award). 

Manoj’s character in Satya and his dark role in Aks gave him much appraisal and several awards. His other major roles include Daud: Fun on the Run (1997), Shool (1999), Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar (2000), Zubeidaa (2001), Road (2002), Veer-Zaara in 2004 and Raajneeti in 2010.

Katrina Kaif touched the feet of actor Manoj Bajpai as a sign of respect following the premiere of Rajneeti. When Satya released some 12 years ago, Tabu had done the same thing, touching the thespian's feet.
