'Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi' is a sequel to a comedy flick titled 'Happy Bhag Jayegi' earlier released in 2016. The film stars Sonakshi Sinha an addition to the franchise and the previous part's lead Diana Penty in the lead roles. The film also stars Abhay Deol, Ali Fazal and Jimmy Shergill in major roles. Diana Penty, who played a bride running away in the first part of the film is also associated with its sequel. She is accompanied by actor Sonakshi Sinha, whose character will also run away from her wedding, in Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi. The film had a decent run at the box-office made with a budget of 20 cr, it raked 29 cr via domestic box-office collection.

Actress Diana announced the news sharing a motion poster of the film via Twitter and captioned "Turns out I'm not the only 'Happy' around, there's one more on the run! Lace up Sonakshi Sinha."  Whereas Sonakshi counter tweeted being excited about the project and wrote, "Nayi Happy se milne ke liye taiyyar ho jaaiye – 24th AUGUST ko Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi! #HappyNews” Let’s get this started ‘Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi’. August 24." 

Just like the first part, Mudassar Aziz is back with his director's hat to helm the sequel. Co-produced by singer Jassie Gill, 'Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi' is set to hit the theatres near you on August 24. Click here to watch 'Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi' motion poster.
