Delhi Court finally permitted the television premiere of 'Grand Masti'. Justice Jayant Nath and division bench of Chief Justice G. Rohini reversed the stay observing that the film was already telecast thrice on TV.
They said, "We make it clear that the exhibition of the film in question in any of the channels of the television shall be in strict compliance with the requirement of the endorsement of a caution in terms of provisions of the Cinematograph Act, 1952."
As this Indra Kumar's film has loads of double meaning dialogues and unsuitable scenes for the audience below the age of 18, court had restricted it from being premiered on TV.
On behalf of the filmmaker advocate Gaurava Bansal of Edara Gopi Chand had filed a plea in the court asking to nullify the U/A certification given to the film.
