Hrithik to become the highest paid actor of India

9th July 2014

Bollywood is all about numbers. No matter how often the stars claim not to be a part of the rat race, the truth remains that they are.

The fact that these numbers make it to the headlines every single time, the stars too get their share of limelight from the same. The latest actor to be talked about for astronomical numbers is none other than the light eyed star Hrithik Roshan.

With his next film, Hrithik will apparently become India's highest paid actor. While the actors these days choose to have a profit share in the film's collection, Hrithik has asked for a clear payment which will be Rs 50 crore for Ashutosh Gowariker's period romance 'Mohenjo-Daro'.

This demand has sent shock waves around the whole country as it's a huge sum and the fact that no production house has yet taken the film makes it more surprising.

Ashutosh is already in talks with the leading studios to produce the film and if reports are to be believed, a studio has agreed to fund his ambitious film. The formalities are being worked out and Ashutosh is all excited to begin his magnum opus.

As for Hrithik's demand, the production house and the filmmaker, both are confident about the same. Hrithik and Ashutosh's last venture 'Jodhaa Akbar' proved to be a huge success. And with another period film in the name of 'Mohenjo-Daro', Ashutosh wants to revive the magic at the box office.

For Hrithik, it is yet another chance to shine in a period film, which will be his second in this genre. For him, next in the pipeline is the film 'Bang Bang' which is the remake of Hollywood film 'Knight and Day'.
