(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Hugh Jackman is finding it hard to gain 25lbs of extra muscle before he begins filming The Wolverine next spring.
The Australian actor has been asked by Darren Aronofsky, the director of the soon-to-be-shot movie The Wolverine, to work even harder on defining his bulky biceps for the role.
Hugh has revealed he found Darrens request of enhancing his frame to that degree is proving a difficult challenge for him.
Gaining 25lbs in around six months Is more than I ever have for the role, he told EW.com. Its not easy for me, because Im actually quite long and lean.
However the 42-year-old actor has turned to fellow action hero Dwayne Johnson, also known by his professional wrestling name of The Rock, for expert tips on how best to pile on the pounds.
Dwayne has recently faced the same extreme weight-gain demands for his latest movie Faster.
I had a chat with Dwayne Johnson, who did 25lbs for his movie, Hugh revealed. I rang him up and was like, OK, tell me whats going on.
Dwayne apparently advised Hugh that the secret was to attempt to gain a pound a week by existing on a diet of brown rice, chicken and steak equating to around 6,000 calories a day. (C) Cover Media
