I don't just want to be a 'heroine': Priyanka Chopra

5th October 2012

Priyanka Chopra's career recently touched a new high when she released her debut music album that marked her foray into singing at an international level.

Apart from this, her film 'Barfi' too has been chosen as India's official entry at the Oscars. She, who is praised for her impeccable performance as an autistic girl, recently claimed that when it comes to performance, every kind of role can bring you excellence.

"Not wearing makeup doesn't make one any less an actor. At the same time, you can be a very good actor with complete makeup on, for example my role in 'Fashion', which won me the National Award," said Priyanka.

She further added that she wants to be an actress and not just a 'Heroine'. "I don't just want to be a heroine I want to be a female actor. The difference in the latter comes through when one is known as an actor who is able to carry off any role," added Priyanka.

With she expressing her desire to be known as an 'Actress' and not just a 'Heroine', we wonder if this is an indirect dig at Kareena Kapoor, whose last stint as 'Heroine' was not at par expectations.
