South Indian music composer "maestro"  Ilaiyaraaja was in London recently to record the tracks of a new Tamil movie titled "Nee Thane En Ponvasantham" by noted director Gautam Vasudeva Menon.

The music maestro who writes the score sheets of his music himself, recorded with a London based orchestra. Adept in both Indian and western classical music, Ilaiyaraaja is one of the few music directors in India who conducts the orchestra himself. 

Since India doesn't have full-sized orchestra groups capable of playing their grand orchestral work, composers such as Ilaiyaraaja and AR Rahman record their select works in Europe.
