(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Michael Jackson's family are divided on a tribute concert for the late star with some calling the event "inappropriate".
The King of Pop's mother Katherine and siblings La Toya, Tito, Jackie and Marlon held a press conference to announce the concert which will be held in the UK later this year.
But two of his brothers Jermaine and Randy issued a statement shortly after, disagreeing with the planned musical extravaganza.
The event called Michael Forever: The Tribute Concert is scheduled for October 8 in Wales.
Celebrities who will be performing at the concert will be announced daily until August 4 when the tickets will go on sale.
Katherine said the concert will be a "world-class event" and added "if my son was here today, he would feel the same way".
But Jermaine and Randy don't agree because they feel that it is not the right time for such an event to be held.
"While we wholeheartedly support the spirit of a tribute that honours our brother, we find it impossible to support an event that is due to take place during the criminal trial surrounding Michael's death," they said.
They added that although there will be a time and a place for a "deserving tribute" for Michael they feel the most important tribute they can give to their brother is to "seek justice in his name".
The Thriller star died two years ago and his physician Conrad Murray has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and faces trial later this year. (C) Cover Media
