20th January 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - James Blunt insists he pays more attention to his fans than his critics.

The British singer has enjoyed chart success with songs such as Youre Beautiful and has sold millions of albums worldwide. Although he has attracted hordes of fans around the globe, many critics have branded his acoustic pop sound bland and boring.

James is currently promoting his third album, Some Kind of Trouble, and he insists he doesnt care about trying to impress his detractors because he is having so much fun.

Whats more important? To have critical acclaim or to have a few thousand people turn up to my concerts? To the public who like me I say thank you, he said in an interview on British television show Loose Women. I dont feel much pressure anymore because I have done what I wanted to do and now I can just enjoy it. And I think you can hear that in this album, the songs are much more lively and upbeat and I am really enjoying performing them.

James also spoke about one of his favourite songs on the new album. He has revealed music bosses werent impressed with the track Turn Me On because it contains such raunchy lyrics. However, the 36-year-old star who has developed a reputation for being a womaniser insisted on it being included on the LP.

My record label didnt want it on the album at all and I wrote it in an over excited moment, he confessed. I think they didnt like it because its inappropriate its filthy. So they put it at the end of the album song number 13, the unlucky song, is Turn Me On. Behind closed doors, I am filthy. (C) Cover Media
