6th October 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jamie Foxx has spoken out about caring for his sister with Down Syndrome, revealing he was thrilled when she appeared in a fashion show.

The American actor was bursting with pride when his sibling DeOndra Dixon waltzed down the catwalk looking stunning in the Be Beautiful, Be Yourself Jet Set Fashion Show last weekend.

The gig was in aid of the Global Down Syndrome Foundation and Quincy Jones and Jeff Probst were also in the audience.

"This is just so amazing that she gets to do her thing where the spotlight is on her, Jamie told ET. The focus is on her. It means a lot."

The 42-year-old comedian revealed the extent to which his family is at the epicentre of his world by describing their cosy living arrangements.

Jamie does not get claustrophobic by being constantly surrounded by the people he grew up with and enjoys spending a lot of time with them.

"This little lady right here lives with me along with my other sister, along with my father and my mother. So, we're one big happy family," he said while sitting next to DeOndra.

The actor is passionate about helping the public realise the real nature of Down Syndrome and eradicating any myths about it.

He said his sister has taught him to appreciate the beauty of honesty.

"I don't call it a condition. I just call it living. he said. When she loves, she loves. When she's mad, she's mad. When she cries, she cries. When she's happy, she's happy, but she always tells the truth." (C) Cover Media
