December 6, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): AnIndian budding designer will soon get lucky to represent the country in Japan Fashion Week (JFW). Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) has already announced the named of four short listed budding designers, who have moved one step ahead to represent the country at the Asian Designers Collection in Japan.
In Japan Fashion week, the Asian Designers collection has a prominent part so it will be a wonderful opportunity for a designer to represent India. The Asian Designers Collection Committee has shortlisted the four names from 25 entries. The mega event will have the participation of 11 major Asian nations, which include China, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan Indonesia and Philippines.
The event at JFW is aimed at promoting cultural exchanges among the upcoming designers in Asia. In 2009, Nitin Bal Chauhan and in 2010, Ritesh Kumar Ridzyn were the lucky ones who represented the country at this event.
The four lucky shortlisted designers are Gaurav Jai Gupta, Ajit Kumar, Neelanjan Ghosh and Divya & Nidhi Gambhir.
FDCI president Sunil Sethi announced the names of these designers and congratulated them to reach at this level. Sethi added that one lucky designer will be part of this internationally renowned event and it will enhance the designers creative ability. This will also give them the encouragement to come out of their comfort zone and try their hands in global arena.
On December 12-15, 2010, the jury will visit India to finalize the one designer, who will represent the country at the Fashion Grand Prix 2010, in March 2011.
