(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jennifer Aniston has revealed she turned down a spot on Saturday Night Live for a role on Friends.
The 41-year-old actress shot to fame playing ditzy waitress Rachel Green in the hit American television series, but she admits she could have enjoyed success with a different show. In the early 90s Lorne Michaels who created and produced Saturday Night Live offered Jennifer a part in the popular live comedy sketch show. Many of Jennifers friends and family tried to persuade her to accept the role, but she decided to take a chance and try her luck with a new show called Friends instead.
"They were like, 'You're so stupid,'" Jennifer told US talk show host Oprah Winfrey. "They thought I was making a huge mistake."
Jennifer has joked she is glad she took the risk and agreed to the star in a new sitcom. "It did alright," she laughed.
Friends ran for ten seasons and the stars of the show Jennifer, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer earned a staggering $1 million per episode.
Jennifer wishes she could go back in time and talk to herself when the show was about to take off and reassure that everything would work out and to "enjoy it".
"No fretting. This is a really wonderful thing we get to do, she added. I'd say listen when people tell you how much joy you bring them." (C) Cover Media
