Jesse Metcalfe loves playing an "anti-Ewing" in Dallas.

The actor portrays Christopher Ewing in the new series of the 80s TV show.

Jesse has revealed his character's views often clash with other family members.

"Occasionally, it's not really in character, but occasionally I do [wear a cowboy hat]. That's the great thing about this character, he has that duality, the more intellectual, well-travelled anti-Ewing," he told a UK TV show. "And then he also has that cowboy side, because obviously he is Bobby's son."

Meanwhile, co-star Patrick Duffy is confident that the new season of Dallas will be a hit.

The actor played Bobby Ewing on the original show and is impressed with the latest storylines.

"I predict a nice, long run for this show. And not just by virtue of the acting, which I think is good if not better than the original, but the writing and the plots," he smiled.
