(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jessica Simpson is preparing to announce that she is pregnant.

Rumours about whether the singer is expecting her first baby have been circling for weeks.

Radar Online has exclusively revealed that the singer will soon be confirming that she is having a child with her fianc, former NFL player Eric Johnson.

"It's still early in the pregnancy, and Jessica has decided to wait before sharing her happiness with her fans," a source said. "But she has begun telling family and friends the exciting news."

The 31-year-old first sparked speculation in September when she refused alcohol during Eric's 32nd birthday celebrations.

Since then Jessica has been pictured wearing baggy clothing that could easily be concealing a baby bump.

Eric's father Stephen is remaining tight-lipped.

"I haven't heard anything," Stephen told Radar. "Is she pregnant? I better give them a call if she is!"

However, he also hinted that the couple were preparing for their lives to become much busier. They have delayed their wedding plans and Stephen suggested this was because of upcoming commitments.

"I wish it [the wedding] would happen!" Stephen said. "It is just a matter of logistics. They have had so much to do." (C) Cover Media
