The megastar appears in comedy drama I Love You Phillip Morris, which is about a criminal who falls in love with an inmate.

And Jim admits he relished taking on the unusual job as it allowed him to leave his comfort zone. The-48-year-old, who once featured prominently in wacky movies such as The Mask, fully got into the head of his character Steven Jay Russell.

I'm here to do extreme and interesting things. I liked the guy I played and I hated him, he told Parade.

Jim also talked about the scenes he had to film with his lover in the film, who is played by Ewan McGregor.

According to the Man on the Moon star, Ewan warned him about kissing another man yet his counterpart proved to be good at the task.

I mean, look at the guy. I have to say, he is a great kisser. As Ewan said, 'When you're kissing another guy it can get a little prickly, he added. (C) Cover Media
