(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Rihanna and Joan Rivers are caught in a Twitter war.

The 79-year-old comedienne took to Twitter to criticise the 24-year old singer on Thursday.

Joan was less than impressed with Rihanna's statements about Chris Brown in a recent interview with Oprah.

"Rihanna confessed to Oprah Winfrey that she still loves Chris Brown," Joan Tweeted. "Idiot! Now it's MY turn to slap her."

The Bajan beauty quickly retorted with her own tweets, taking aim at Joan's age.

"@Joan_Rivers wow u really do get slow when you're old huh(sic)?" the songstress shot back. "slap on some diapers."

Rihanna discussed the physical abuse she faced at the hands of Chris Brown during the interview. In addition to confessing she loved him, she also revealed she feels "protective" over him.

Chris Brown wasn't very pleased with the discussion.
