(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Joel Madden has revealed he often consults Lionel Richie for advice on his love life.

The Good Charlotte rocker is engaged to Lionels daughter Nicole Richie, and the pair have two children together two-year-old Harlow and 14-month-old Sparrow. Despite their closeness, the 31-year-old singer has admitted he sometimes looks to others for help on how to deal with his fiance.

Whenever Nicole is mad at me, for any reason, I call him and Im like, Listen, shes mad at me and I dont really know why. And then hell call her and hell fix it and its really nice having that, he told People magazine.

Joel also revealed that he often speaks to Lionel about his children and how to cope when he is away from them for long periods of time. With a young daughter and son in his life, Joel admits he finds it is difficult to leave the house sometimes.

Its hard to be away. Its the first time I ever questioned what I did because sometimes you miss moments and youre like, Is this worth it? Me and him [Lionel] have become best friends. We talk on the phone a lot. Hes always gone and Im always gone, but we totally understand each other. Hes been where Ive been, Joel explained. (C) Cover Media
