John Abraham could be shot dead!

27th September 2012

In recent times, with fast paced cinema and intense sequences, action is going to an altogether different level. In an age where a celebrity getting injured on a set while shooting has become common news, this one is rather shocking.

John Abraham almost missed losing his life while shooting for his film 'Shootout at Wadala'.

According to sources, John, who plays gangster Manya Surve in the aforementioned film, was shooting for a scene where Anil Kapoor (who plays cop Isaque Bagwan) had to shoot a bullet (minus metallic lead) at John. The shot was suppose to be taken from a minimum distance of 15 feet, but due to the goof up from the gun-effects team, there was a miscommunication about the distance and the shot was taken from a distance of only 1.5 feet.

The shot burst into flames as planned, but due to the close range, it hit John with higher intensity (almost ten times) than it was supposed to.

Luckily, Anil missed the exact shot and thanks to his bad aim, John did not get hit in the middle of his neck and the bullet grazed the left side of his neck. But due to the momentum, John, who was crouching for the scene, fell to his right side.

Needless to say, the unit was shocked and there was utter panic all around. Everybody realised what could have happened if Kapoor had timed his shot well.

A doctor was summoned on the sets to attend Abraham, whose ears were ringing for 24 hours after the accident.
