He must've grooved to the song 'Rum Whisky'  in his maiden production 'Vicky Donor', but Bollywood's self acclaimed fitness freak John Abraham prefers to stay away from alcoholic drinks as he vouches for a healthy lifestyle. But the star who himself is an ardent non-alcoholic person gulped down half a bottle of champagne just to get into the skin of his character. 

John, who is currently shooting for his forthcoming film 'Shootout at Wadala' recently had to shoot for a high octane emotional scene and in order to perfect the emotions and the feeling of the scene, John decided to break his no-alcohol vow and got drunk to get into the 'mood of the character'. 

"Usually I never drink, but it was an important scene and I wanted to get it absolutely right. The idea was to feel the agony Manya is going through at that point. I very occasionally drink champagne, but I can't stand the smell of alcohol. Still, I was completely in favor of drinking for the scene," said John. 

Director Sanjay Gupta is completely in awe of his protagonist and claims that this proves John's commitment towards his profession, "It shows how deeply he is involved in the film. He has completely surrendered himself to me as an actor. I am completely taken by his sincerity and hard work," said Sanjay on John's decision to get drunk for a scene.

We hope the scene is 'high' enough to impress the audience.
