January 28, 2011 (Sampurn Wire): Hollywood star John Travolta has time and again proved his worth as being one of the top league of actors in tinsel town. This time too the dashing star is all set to rock with a very major project which is soon going to be launched and John Travolta will be portraying a very power packed role.

The movie which is titled Gotti, is to be based on the Gambino crime family and is to be spread over three generations of the mighty family. The story is to be based on the father son relationship. The father's character will be based on will be John Gotti Sr.

Reports doing the rounds suggest that the Grease star is soon to sashay the role of John Gotti, the powerful kingpin who is also known as 'The Dapper Don' due to his extravagant lifestyle and the 'Teflon Don' due to his smart moves to roam Scott free and avoid the law, was one of the most powerful people of his times. Gotti is an Italian surname which has its origin in and around the areas of Naples.

Earlier in 1996 a tele film was made on this Mafia Don by HBO and the film was titled Gotti-: The Rise and fall of a Real Life Mafia Don

John Gottis son Gotti Jr.as he is fondly known along with a group of his family members and some close friends met up with the Hollywood star Travolta and the films director Nick Cassavates and the producer Marc Fiore at an Italian restaurant Amicis in Brentwood, Los Angeles recently where certain important points about the movie were discussed amidst a great and lavish Italian meal.

Going by reports Gotti Jr.and John Travolta had some very important discussions regarding Travoltas role in the biopic and by the end of it all Gotti Jr.was more than convinced that if there was anyone in tinsel town who could portray his father on screen then it had to be none other than the dynamic John Travolta.

Later in the evening as they left the restaurant there were warm hugs and pleasant exchanges as John Travolta signed autographs and all of them posed for pics for waiting shutterbugs.

Reportedly the producer had earlier come out with statements suggesting that the Gotti family had agreed to give in exclusive information regarding the family and Gotti Jr. had also taken an active part in scripting for the film.

According to reports actor James Franco (seen in the recent flick 127 Hours) will be featuring as Gotti Jr.
