(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Johnny Depp has revealed why he wont marry his long-term partner Vanessa Paradis, insisting its just a piece of paper.

The Hollywood heartthrob has been in a relationship with the stunning French singer-and-actress for 12 years and they have two children together 11-year-old Lily Rose and Jack, eight. The pair are happier than ever together, and Johnny insists they dont need to hold a ceremony to prove their love.

He also claims he loves 37-year-old Vanessas surname so much he couldnt bear to ask her to change it.

"I'd be so scared of ruining her last name. She's got such a good last name, the 47-year-old actor told Extra. "I never found myself needing that piece of paper. Marriage is really from soul to soul, heart to heart. You don't need somebody to say, OK you're married."

Even though a marriage certificate doesnt mean much to him, he admits he would reconsider the situation if Vanessa wanted to get hitched.

Johnny is already looking forward to the Christmas holidays and hopes to spend the festive period with his family. The star cant wait to take a break from his hectic work schedule and relax with loved ones later this month.
