Johnny Depp keen for Gervais show part

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Johnny Depp is set to appear in Ricky Gervais new television show.

The Hollywood hunk has reportedly agreed to make a guest appearance in the sitcom, Lifes Too Short, despite Ricky poking fun at Johnnys recent movie The Tourist when he was presenting the Golden Globes earlier this year. Johnny was happy to laugh off Rickys comments and is now trying to rearrange his schedule so he can make time to film scenes for the series, which is about a conceited dwarf who runs a talent agency for other small people. The 47-year-old is impressed by the script and is reportedly keen to get involved with the BBC project.

"Johnny will guest star in Ricky's new show, a source told British newspaper The Sun. He's trying to work out his schedule but it will definitely go ahead. Johnny is a huge fan of Ricky's and has a great sense of humour. He has wanted to work with Ricky for ages and this is it."

Shooting is scheduled to begin in May and the show will be aired on BBC2 in the UK and also HBO in America. Lifes Too Short has been described as a combination of Extras which was written by Ricky and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Ricky and fellow writer Stephen Merchant will be making cameo appearances in the show.

Ricky shocked the audience at the Golden Globes by ridiculing a host of Hollywood stars. He raised eyebrows by taking a swipe at the cast of The Tourist a romantic action movie starring Johnny and Angelina Jolie.

"It was a big year for 3D movies. Toy Story, Despicable Me, Tron... seems like everything was three-dimensional except the characters in The Tourist," he quipped. (C) Cover Media
