(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Juliette Lewis feels like Hercules when she goes on stage.

The American star is a successful actress and singer. Her band Juliette and the Licks split in 2009 and she now performs as part of The New Romantiques. Her experience on stage came in handy when she was working on movie Sympathy for Delicious, about a group who are on the verge of achieving success but have problems along the way. She plays bassist Ariel and drew on her own feelings while performing for the part.

I know, on stage, I feel like Hercules, so I relate in that sense, she explained.

Juliette stopped short of saying her previous experiences are just like those of the members of the fictional band in the movie, although she hinted there are parallels.

You understand all these prototypes within bands, like bassists being diplomatic in nature, the egocentric lead singer, and all of that. But, this band is very extreme and deals with fame, success and failure, and decadence, she said. The band I have is all heart and hunger. Its a little indie band, against all odds and making something work. Its a bit different. But, I do understand fractured dynamics, and all that, when stuff starts to implode.

Sympathy for Delicious also stars Orlando Bloom and Mark Ruffalo, who also directed it. (C) Cover Media
