Justin Bieber's new single Boyfriend has attracted the most unlikely of fans an 80-year-old grandmother.
The Canadian singer sent his followers into a frenzy after releasing the track on iTunes today, shortly after midnight. The 18-year-old has been spreading the word about the song on his Twitter page, sending the social network abuzz with excitement.
While the star is known for attracting a bevy of younger fans, it seems he also has a much older admirer. A grandmother, whose twitter name is Josie Dimples, took to her social networking account to praise the singer's work following the release of the new single.
"@belieberbabes I know I'm 80yrs old, BUT #IfIWasJustinsGirlfriend I'd cook him meatballs and put my teeth in more often! #OLDladySWAG ha ha! (sic)," she wrote.
Her grandson also tweeted that she was calling all the radio stations she could think of to request the track.
Justin is flattered to see his work has paid off. He has sent a shout out to all his fans thanking them for their support.
"one of the best nights ever. i work hard on my music. thank u 4 the love. just the beginning. #BOYFRIENDonITUNES (sic)," he tweeted.
"seeing all the comments on #BOYFRIEND is amazing. #MUCHLOVE. now let's get it to #1!!! BIEBERBLAST!! thanks (sic)," he tweeted once the song hit the airwaves.
Boyfriend is the first single off Believe, Justin's third album following the release of My World 2.0 and Under the Mistletoe.
