Justin Timberlake: Conformity was moronic

4th May 2012

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Justin Timberlake "succumbed to weirdness" with his sense of style as a youth.

The handsome singer, actor and entrepreneur spent nearly a decade as a member of former boy band N'Sync.

Justin regrets many of the fashion choices he made at that time.

"There were many moments in my teenage years where I succumbed to, um, the weirdness of the group I was in," he recalled in the May issue of Details magazine. "And in trying to conform -- we're marionettes! -- I ended up looking like a moron."

Justin is now also against styling coifs to the extreme.

"I don't like when I see guys do too much hair gel," he explained. "I don't mean Pauly D -- because that's basically performance art. But when you use enough hair gel that your hair becomes a sculptureand you wanted it to look that way? It's just weird."

Justin has opted to forego haircuts altogether by shaving his head regularly.

"It's scary the first time you do it, because you don't know what's under there -- you could have some weird knot -- but a shaved head is just so easy," he shared.

"[All guys should go to] an actual barbershop [with] the whole hot-towel, old-school experience. You sit there and get your hands massaged while getting a shave? Nothing wrong with that." (C) Cover Media
