Since the day it has been conceptualized, Vishal Bhardwaj’s talked about ambitious film "Daayan" has been in news for all the wrong reasons. First it was Rani Mukherji and later Vidya Balan who refused to play the title role which also happens to be a negative role.

It was even said that Emraan Hashmi’s casting as the male protagonist was the main reason behind Rani Mukerji’s decision to walk out of the film. But after staying on the back burner for quite some time now, the film may soon see the light of the day as the makers have apparently found a female lead in the name of Kalki Koechlin.

Kalki has reportedly signed the film where she’ll play the negative character of the witch. It is said that Vishal wanted an actress who is not only beautiful but also has the caliber to pull off the role with ease. And according to the requirements, Kalki fits the bill to the ‘T’.
