Kamal Haasan called on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in Chennai on Wednesday and presented a cheque for Rs 15 lakh to help people affected by the cyclone Thane in the districts of Cuddalore and Villupuram.

This is the first meeting between Kamal and Jayalalithaa after the AIADMK general secretary emerged victorious in the Assembly elections held last year and became the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for the third time.

Kollywood personalities have been making a beeline to the Secretarait to meet the CM and to give their contributions to the relief of the cyclone victims, ever since Jayalalithaa made an appeal, seeking donations.

Last week, Superstar Rajinikanth met Jayalalithaa and presented a cheque for Rs 10 lakh. South Indian Artistes Assocation president R Sarath Kumar and the Sivakumars (Suriya, Karthi and Sivakumar) also called on the Chief Minister and gave funds for Thane relief.
