Karan Johar and his fake moustache emotional nexus

9th May 2015

Filmmaker Karan Johar is playing a stylized arch rival of street fighter Johnny Balraj played by Ranbir Kapoor in Anurag Kashyap's 'Bombay Velvet'.

Modeled with a typical debonair and flamboyant big shot merchant with a moustache becomes the bullet point of the character, Kaizad Khambatta played by him.

Karan said that he found it annoying but also added that it was an emotional experience as it reminded his mother of his late father Yash Johar. The moustache adds to the panache of his get up.

Karan expressed, "I would never keep a moustache! And the fake moustache... My 'izzat' (respect) for actors who stick it everyday on sets, has increased. It is annoying and irritating."

He further added, "Strangely, it reminded my mother of my dad. He used to have a moustache, and I got very emotional about resembling him. So, I was happy about that, and thought I should bear with the torture," he added in a lighter vein.
