It seems that Bollywood's loved filmmaker Karan Johar is taking his acting career quite seriously. The filmmaker who did cameos in a couple of films has done a full-fledged supporting role in Anurag Kashyap's upcoming film starring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.

And now we hear that he is approached to play a dad in Shahid Kapoor's next.

The film helmed by filmmaker Vikas Bahl is a destination wedding film starring Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.

The film has Shahid playing the role of a wedding planner while the role offered to Karan is apparently of a father to the soon-to-be-married youngster. Though there hasn't been a confirmation yet, reports suggest that Karan too is content with the role in the film.

This is the second time that he has been offered a senior's role. In Anurag's film, he plays the role of a newspaper editor and also sports grey hair streaks. Hence, it wouldn't come as a surprise that the young-at-heart filmmaker accepts the role to be a father.

Another actor who has been offered the role to play the father is Govinda. If both accept the respective roles, they will play the in-laws to each other.

Now that will be quite a combination to watch.
